Proud to be me

High self-esteem is one of the greatest gifts we can give to a child. Confident children with strong self-belief are effective learners and achievers. They are willing to make mistakes, learn from them, contribute and grow. At Manor Park every child is special and we aim to develop and nurture each child’s self-esteem, their individual strengths and talents.

Achieving my Goals

It is the role of our whole school community to help EVERY child to aim high, to realise their full potential and achieve their personal goals. Every day we celebrate success.

Responsible for me, my friends, my world

At Manor Park our children are nurtured to grow into reliable, independent and positive citizens who are able to contribute to society.  Our young children learn to develop a sense of responsibility and to take care of their friends and their environment. We provide opportunities for children to participate in and contribute within the school and the local Community, as well as to broaden their horizons and develop a respect for and appreciation of diversity and different world cultures.

Team work works

Together we can achieve the best. It is important for parents and staff to work together as members of the Manor Park team. We aim to provide good role models for our children, to help them develop a range of life long skills, to enable our children to build positive and productive relationships. We aim for high quality interaction in the classroom where all pupils are willing to support each other and learn together.

Never give up…I can do it!

We aim to develop excellent attitudes and behaviour which enhance learning such as perseverance, confidence and resourcefulness.

Enquire and explore

We believe that through problem solving, investigating and being brave in learning children build up strong learning habits that will help them to make progress and succeed for the rest of their lives. Our curriculum is focused on asking challenging questions, encouraging children to seek for answers and to ask questions for themselves.

Reflect to improve

Our assessment for Learning Policy is central to our success. Understanding how we learn and what we need to do to improve helps us to make progress. Talking is essential in helping us to explain our thinking and express our ideas. Through listening to our children we can find out what they understand and help them to focus on the next steps in their learning.

Successfully using basic skills

We ensure achievement for all by teaching the basic skills of reading, writing and mathematics in enjoyable ways. We teach basic skills with rigour and to apply skills to different subjects. Our teachers are highly qualified, enthusiastic and passionate about finding the best methods to help each child to succeed in their learning. We know our children exceptionally well and develop a deep understanding of their strengths and weaknesses and how they learn best. The whole school community is determined to provide excellent challenge and support for every child. In order to meet such high expectations the continual development of our staff and governor team is top priority.

Healthy and happy and ready to learn

To make the best progress possible, we understand that children need healthy bodies, minds and attitudes, including 100% attendance. These things are key to children being happy, settled and successful throughout their school lives. We listen to our children. Their views and ideas are very important to us so we carry out regular consultations with children in various ways. This informs our curriculum and tells us about the skills and qualities children have acquired to help them to enjoy school, stay safe throughout their lives and to be good learners.

Inspiring possibilities

We believe that learning should be fun, purposeful and exciting.  We want children to learn about the exciting opportunties that are open to them in the wider world and to aspire to be the best they can be. We inspire children by capturing their interests using a range of starting points such as WOW factors…starting with challenge questions, outdoor learning, and planning from the Power of Reading. We aim to unlock children’s academic potential and help them to be imaginative, creative and thoughtful young people.

Progress for all

We believe every child can achieve and see every child as special and unique. We make sure that every learner makes progress and we track that progress rigorously. We understand that it is only though working in partnership with parents and the invaluable support networks that surround schools that together we can achieve our vision.
