Welcome to Panda's Class!
Mrs Wragg and Mrs Lockley teach the Pandas and Mrs Welby is the teaching assistant. We are really excited to welcome your children to our class and we have lots of fun things planned for them. Our topic this term is "Me and My Marvellous World". We will also be learning about different celebrations and cultures. You will soon be getting a newsletter with suggestions for how you might be able to help at home.
Our P.E. days are on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Family Dinners September 2018
As part of our work on the story Peace At Last we used fixatives to make jointed bears.
We also sorted pictures of diurnal and nocturnal animals.
We made some spiky hedgehogs out of playdough.
On January 14th we went on a Gruffalo's trail! We followed some bear footprints that led us past some animals and took us to a log pile. We followed the trail back to our classroom and spotted the Gruffalo!
In February the children had two days experiencing Bikeability Balance Bike training. Some of the children were a little bit wobbly on day one, but by the second day they had gained a lot of confidence. They learnt how to get on and off of their bikes correctly, how to cruise along without their feet being on the floor, and how to stop by using their brakes. We all had a great time!
We have gained lots of confidence in our P.E. sessions. We are finding different ways to travel along the equipment. When we jump off the end we are learning to bend our knees and to stand as straight as we can without wobbling when we land on the mat.
We were very lucky to have some parents in who came to share books with their children.
We had an exciting Book Week! We walked to the library with The Owls class where one of the library ladies read us some lovely stories. On World Book Day we dressed up as story characters- don't we look great! The teachers read stories to different classes and we loved having The Falcons' children coming to read to us- we also read our reading books to them.
On 11th March The Owls and Pandas went on a visit to Perlethorpe- an outdoor learning environment. We had an amazing day. As part of our topic on Traditional Tales we told the story of The 3 Little Pigs through role play in the woods. We saw the houses made of straw, sticks and bricks and took it in turns to be the pigs or wolf. We also acted out the story of The 3 Billy Goats Gruff. In the afternoon we paired up with a friend to do blindfold activities on a trail, made pictures out of natural materials, and made houses for animals. We also enjoyed the bus journey and the packed lunch!
Archery Day 29th March. A celebration for our golden tickets! Well done everyone!
