  • School Council

    We are very proud of our School Council.

    The role of the School Council.

    • To listen to the views of the children at Manor Park.
    • To improve our school.
    • To sort out any problems children may have.
    • To improve the local environment.
    • To understand the value of things and to  fund raise to support our projects

    The members of the School Council are elected by their Class members and attend School Council meetings. We do lots of different things in School Council which you can read about below.

    Some of the projects we have worked on together...

    • Improving the dining experience
    • Finding out what children like to do at playtimes and fund-raising for some new toys
    • Finding out children's views on behaviour and helping to write our anti-bullying policy

    Our current focus (Spring and Summer Term 2025), is raising funds for some new large playground adventure equipment. Every child in the school has had the opportunity to vote for the equipment they would like, and we are now finalising the installation details.

    We have a school council meeting once a month, and it is led by Mrs Dolby and Miss O'Brien. We discuss various issues raised by the children, or teachers in the school. It is an open forum, where all members of the school council are encouraged to report back on thoughts and ideas from their class.

    Ideas discussed and actioned this year include:

    • Keeping our school and local environment clean, tidy and free from litter;
    • How to embed the 'High Expectations' within the school;
    • Fund-raising / food donations for local causes;
    • Promoting well-being at school;
    • Easter bonnet competition for the whole school - with prizes;
    • Charity cake sale;
    • Large play equipment for the outdoor playground, in consultation with the children and staff in the school.
